1948 Bulletins

1948 was an interesting year. The bulletin began to be produced on Wednesday instead of Sunday. There was a focus on evangelism with an outreach for quite some time in Boone, NC with tent meetings throughout the year. It seemed common for the time but gospel meetings often ran for 10 days. One such meeting resulted in 9 baptisms. Sickness was a huge focus in the bulletins including one reason why the bulletin was not produced for several weeks. At one point children were not allowed to attend services due to a health ban. Scarlet fever, flu, chicken pox and other ailments plagued the congregation. The building of the preachers house was well documented throughout the year in almost every bulletin as the members pitched in and did most of the work.
