2020 Bulletins

Cormorant Garamond is a classic font with a modern twist. It's easy to read on screens of every shape and size, and perfect for long blocks of text.

It is important to note for the sake of history the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. In March, 2020, a global pandemic began to paralyze the world and businesses and churches were forced to shut down in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus. State governments issued shut down orders and the Warners Chapel elders ceased services after March 15th. The elders immediately began discussing alternatives and initially Kevin Rutherford, the preacher at the time, began to record sermons in the studio. After a short time the elders decided to conduct a full live streamed service from the studio with limited participants. Portable communion supplies were provided for drive-thru pickup and no paper bulletins were produced. The congregation did not meet in person until Sunday morning June 17th. While the government still mandated gatherings no larger than 20, an exception was granted for religious institutions after many churches filed a lawsuit against the state of N.C. Warners Chapel elders took all precautions necessary to insure as safe a return as possible, including temperature checks, masks, hand sanitizer and socially distanced seating in the auditorium. Songs books were removed in favor of PowerPoint slides to eliminate another item that could possibly harbor the virus. A live feed was setup in the annex on a big screen TV for those desiring even more social distance. Wednesday night Bible study (auditorium class only) resumed on September 7th and an abbreviated Sunday evening worship service resumed on November 1st along with the resumption of the bulletin. Classes for children resumed on Wednesday night, March 3, 2021.

Additionally, in March, the elders hired Mike Glenn to come in a restart the NC School of Biblical Studies. Unfortunately, with the COVID shutdown it was very difficult to do any recruiting. In April, Caleb Rutherford (youth minister) left for another work in Tennessee.
