WHAT’S NEXT?

The year is rapidly drawing to a close.  Our fall meeting is now history.  In fact, most of the year is now history.  In less than two weeks the country will pause and celebrate Thanksgiving.  Many homes will host family and friends gathering together for their traditional meal and activities. The advertisers will begin (or continue) to bombard the nation with seasonal ads.  Everywhere you turn, Santa’s will be seen along with elves, sleighs, beautifully decorated evergreen trees, etc.  Along with these will be the appeal to purchase the latest thing “you must have,” or that  “you deserve,” etc.

Warners Chapel will continue to meet for worship and Bible study.  The elders will meet to discuss and plan the activities of the congregation for the next year.  There will be a congregational meeting near the end of the year so they can present the proposed budget and plan of work for 2003.  Which of these future events are you looking forward to?  The season of turkey and Santa are fun times for many, and that is all right. I enjoy the end of the year holiday season.  What about the congregational meeting to present and discuss the proposed budget and work plan?  How are you thinking about it?  Is it something that we need to do but . . .?

The plans for 2003 should be very important for the members of Warners Chapel. In that meeting will be presented the plans for the congregation to work together as a united body in fulfilling the mission of the Lord’s church in this location.  You will find out works you are needed for and can participate in during the year.  You will know what special outreach efforts are planned so you can prayerfully think about who you can invite.  You will be made aware of every effort the church will make in which you will be needed.

So what is next for you?  How will you serve the Lord in 2003?
