Into All The World
Jesus commissioned the apostles, and through them us, to carry the message of
salvation into all the world. A quick scan of the congregation’s yearly
financial report and prospective budget show that Warners Chapel has takes this
commission seriously. Presently the congregation supports several foreign
mission efforts such as: P. R. Swamy in India; the preacher training school in
India; the Zambia School of Biblical studies in the nation of Zambia in Africa;
The Southern Sumatra Bible College in Jakarta, Sumatra; Barry Hatcher in
Sumatra; in Nicaragua several go for medical mission efforts, Vacation Bible
School, or building campaigns with half of the expense covered by the
congregation, along with support of a preacher in Nicaragua; and the
Thailand Children’s Home in Korat, Thailand. The elders continue to look
into worthy sound efforts in other areas of the world.
There is also concern for evangelism in North Carolina. Presently the
church supports the Henderson church of Christ in Henderson, North Carolina; the
Southside church of Christ in Williamston, North
Carolina; and Hi-Thom church of Christ in High Point, North Carolina. Tim
Wilkes is supported in his work teaching the Fishers of Men personal evangelism
classes around the country. Tim has twice taught this class for Warners
Chapel and is scheduled to return again in the near future. Warners Chapel
also helps support AGAPE of NC, The Search Program, and Todd Hinson has set
up a website http://members.aol.com/warnersccc. An outreach paper is
mailed out to all the homes in the Clemmons and Lewisville area just prior to
our Friends and Family Day outreach effort each fifth Sunday of the year.
Additionally, Warners Chapel
conducts two gospel meetings and Vacation Bible School each year.
Along with support for foreign missions and evangelism in North Carolina,
Warners Chapel also gives assistance to the Rainbow Christian Services in
Gainesville, Virginia: the Southeast Children’s Home in Duncan, South
Carolina; and the Christian Home and Bible School in Mt. Dora, Florida.
This congregation is concerned with the obligation of reaching out to the world
with the message of salvation. Another opportunity is now presenting
itself for you to personally teach others. Steve Martin will present
information on working with Truth For the World answering questions sent to them
and mailing out and grading correspondence courses requests. Truth For the
World is a work of the Duluth Church of Christ located in Duluth, Georgia.
They produce radio and television programs broadcasted all over the world.
In addition to the radio and television work, they offer teaching materials and
correspondence courses in English and plan evangelistic campaigns to areas where
there is a large number of people interested in learning the gospel.
Truth For The World needs volunteers to mail out and grade correspondence
courses and answer questions they receive from people. Some of the
requests come from computer users via the Internet. To help with these you
need an Internet connection and an e-mail address. There are no minimum or
maximum number of courses required. If you are reluctant to try this for
fear you may get a question you cannot answer, don’t be. If you get a
difficult question there are several people who can help you find an answer.
Why not stay and hear what Steve has to say about this opportunity to serve the
Lord in the evangelism of the world. This is one more chance to get to
work for our Lord.
