WHY WE ARE TO "GO."

Last week I wrote an article discussing the Biblical command to evangelize.  The reason that we are commanded to "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel," is that the Bible tells us that the whole world lies in sin (1 John 5:19).  God sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. The price was offered and Jesus volunteered his service as that offering (Philippians 2:5-9).  It is now up to us to continue the ministry of reconciliation that was begun by God the Father.

Evangelism can be a time consuming task, yet what task is more rewarding than teaching others about the Lord and what He has done for us all.  We just cannot sit idly by while there are opportunities that pass by us each and every day.

A few years ago there was a movie called the Sixth Sense wherein, as the story went, a little boy could see and actually converse with "dead people."  He vocalized the much-used phrase, "I see dead people."  In actuality, we could do the same.  When we look at those around us in sin, we could also truthfully say we "see dead people."  If we don't do something about this situation, these people will die and be eternally lost in Hell.

For us to simply not do anything about the souls of others, is just what Satan wants us to do.  God was willing to give His Son and Jesus was willing to give His life.  What are you willing to give?
