THE PRECIOUS BOOK DIVINE

The Bible has been the most widely published book in History.  It has been translated into more than sixteen hundred languages and dialects, and more translations are being completed every year. Everywhere the Bible has been taught, its influence has brought respect and dignity for those who are alive and those who are dead.  Obedience to the Bible has raised the moral standards of every community and nation it has been introduced.

Years ago it would have cost hundreds of dollars to have scribe create a copy of the Scriptures.  Today, you can walk into a Dollar Tree or some other store and buy one off the shelf for $1. What a wonderful bargain!  To be able to obtain the key to Eternal Life for only one dollar!

I read recently of a Gallup Poll that queried Biblical topics.  Here are some of the results:

· Less than 50% knew that Genesis was the first book in the Bible.
· An average teenager could only name 3 or 4 of the Ten Commandments.
· 60 % of adults could not name half of the Ten Commandments.
· At least 75% polled could not name one Old Testament Prophet.
· Only 34% knew that Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount.
· And only 30% could name the four Gospels.

It is truly amazing, and sad, to see that the book that provides the information that leads to Eternal Life is not one that most people care enough to know what is inside.
