Where Do We Go From Here?
Life is a series of
beginnings and endings. The biggest are birth and death. In between,
however, we go through a long series of beginnings and endings. There is
the beginning of school with kindergarten and ends with high school or college
graduation; beginning a job and finding a new one, one day retiring;
beginning a family and saying good-bye as the children leave to begin anew.
Congregations have many
beginnings and endings. Warners Chapel has seen many special efforts and
programs over the last 8 ½ years. There were two marriage seminars,
Fishers of Men training classes, Lab 1 with Steve Cummings, a work team program,
etc. Some of the efforts and programs continue, some have ended. The
question for Warners Chapel is the title of this article, Where do we go
from here?
One answer is the Annual
Carolina Lectureship. We will host the lectureship in April of 2004. The
week of the lectures will be busy for us and very rewarding for all who
participate. What then? The reason for the question involves our
purpose for existing. We are the Lord’s body. As His body we have
work to do, work He has assigned. The programs and special efforts are all
designed to help us accomplish the work for God’s glory ands honor.
So what will we do next? Think about it,
pray about it, discuss it with others. Then talk with the elders about your
ideas. We know what God wants done. So what can we do to accomplish it,
involve others in accomplishing it, and be better at accomplishing it?
