Upcoming Events
When I last saw a movie at
the local movie house, before the feature film began, there were several
invitations to plan to return and see a movie that was scheduled to come soon.
These previews served several purposes, one of which was to encourage planning
for the future. We have several upcoming events here at Warners Chapel
that we need to know about for planning and prayers.
I will be leaving,
Lord willing, Wednesday May 7th from Greensboro to Jos, Nigeria. The
purpose of the trip is to speak during the School of Biblical Studies
Lectureship. We here at Warners Chapel support this school, so this
provides an opportunity to meet several graduates who will speak, meet some
present students, and see the school. The elders believe it is important
to check out where the money goes. We have a responsibility to be good
stewards of God’s blessings, so we need to see firsthand how it is used.
Later in the month - Jason,
Katarina, Tim, Lois, and several others are leaving for Sweden for the wedding
of Jason and Katarina. They will be traveling by plane to the country and
spending several days there. Please remember them all in your prayers as
they travel, as well as the soon-to-be newlyweds that there marriage will be one
that glorifies God. If that happens, they will have a happy and
successful marriage.
Vacation Bible School is also coming soon. We will have the opportunity
and responsibility to lift up the Lord before a large number of kids ranging
from nursery to teens. There will also be adult classes taught by local
preachers. We need to pray for this effort. You are also ask to help
out with this effort. Some classes could use another helper or
teacher. There will be snacks served in the Annex building nightly, which
means we need people willing to help serve. After each night we will need
to clean up a little for the next day. Ask yourself, “What can I do to
help?”
The day after Vacation Bible School ends David
and Jeannie Moore, Luke and I will fly out of Greensboro for Nicaragua.
This year David and Jeannie will be helping with Vacation Bible School in two
different locations in the country. Luke and I will be with a medical
group in the city of Masatepe. Please pray for the following: That we will
meet people with good and honest hearts to sow the seed that a harvest for
God’s honor and glory may be reaped; for safety in travel to Nicaragua; while
in Nicaragua; and on the return trip home from Nicaragua.
