STEPPIN’ UP
"A few years
before the beloved N. B. Hardeman was taken home by the Lord he made this
statement, ‘If I could start over I would have a school in which only the Bible
would be taught.’ He could see the need for greater emphasis on Bible teaching.
He was in no wise opposed to secular education, but his main interest was in the
purity of the church and the propagation of sound doctrine.” (Cited from the
Memphis School of Preaching website.)
The church at Warners Chapel has been training preachers for years. It is now time for us to look at creating a more effective program to train men who will preach the old Jerusalem Gospel.
Directly north of us is the West Virginia School of Preaching in Moundsville, WV. South of us is the Central Carolina School of Preaching in Sumter, SC. There is a need for a preacher training school in between that will minister to the needs of southern West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. The elders and I are working toward the same idea that brother Hardeman had: a school where only the Bible and Bible related subjects would be taught. Tonight we will be presenting a plan to implement a School of Biblical Studies on our property. We highly value your input and support of this effort.
