Our Gospel Meeting

On April 30, 2000 we begin a gospel meeting with brother Cecil. This opening day is designated as Friends and Family Day. The elders have issued a challenge to the congregation to have 250 people present that day for the morning services. Who can you think of to invite that day? If you are thinking 250 people is a lot of people, it is. But not that many more than we have in the membership. A few weeks ago there were almost 200 hundred people here on a Sunday morning with no visitors. If everyone brought one person we could have almost 400 for our opening service of the meeting. Wouldn’t it be great to have more than 250 and surpass the elder’s challenge? So who are you going to invite? Remember that the meeting will continue through Thursday evening. We all need to invite folks to every service. Let’s determine to meet and surpass the elder’s challenge each service, not just on Sunday morning.

Bible Class

The teen and adult Bible classes on Sunday morning have begun some new material based on the questionnaire the elders had a few weeks ago. They studied the results of the two questionnaires and determined some areas of study we at Warners Chapel need. Every member will greatly benefit by attending the classes. Bible classes are provided so each member can supplement his or her own private study that we each might be "approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15). Why not attend these classes which our elders have prayerfully planned for us?

Future Events

Do not forget that we have many more events planned for the future. Another Friends and Family Day is planned for the last Sunday of July. A congregational meal will follow in the Annex building. This is another chance to invite people to come and worship with us. A special Bible class and sermon will be presented that day with our visitors in mind.

We also have a Fall gospel meeting planned for October. It also will begin with a Friends and Family Day. Brother Don Blackwell from East Broad Street in Statesville will be the preacher for this meeting.

Vacation Bible School is also set to begin June 4-8. Our theme is Young People Of The Bible. Area preachers are already lined up to teach in the adult class again this year. Classes are planned for all ages. This is another opportunity to invite people to come to Warners Chapel and learn about God and His love for humanity.
