WELCOME

Welcome to Warners Chapel Friends and Family Day.  We are grateful for your attendance here today.  We here at Warners Chapel are committed to the Bible and its teaching.  We believe and teach that the Bible is the all-sufficient guide given to humanity by the God of heaven.  2 Timothy 3:16,17 states, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

One major biblical doctrine is the unity of believers.  Jesus stated the principle of unity in His prayer prior to His betrayal and arrest.  He prayed, “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.”  Note that Jesus desires all believers be united. Paul wrote the Corinthians, “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” (I Corinthians 1:10).

The way to achieve this unity of mind and judgment is by having the mind of Christ.  This means one must be committed to God’s will even if it requires self-sacrifice (see Philippians 2:4ff). Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice leaving heaven, becoming a human being, living a life of service to those who should have serve Him, and then died in payment for the sins of all humanity. We must have the same spirit of self-sacrifice and devotion to God if we are to achieve the unity for which Jesus prayed and Paul commanded.

We encourage you to join us in searching the Scriptures to better understand the will of God and worship and serve Him acceptably.
