WHAT ARE THE REASONS FOR HAVING A GOSPEL MEETING?

  1. To teach the Word of God. 1 Timothy 3:15
  2. To worship God in spirit and in truth. John 4:23-24
  3. To exalt the Lord, Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 6:14-16
  4. To lead lost souls to Christ.  John 16:8
  5. To edify and encourage the saints. 1 Peter 5:8
  6. To provide a spiritual feast for all to enjoy. Psalms 119:111

WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE OUR MEETING SUCCESSFUL?

  1. Attend every service myself.
  2. Invite my friends and acquaintances.
  3. Bring a relative, friend or neighbor. More have probably been converted in this way than any other.
  4. Welcome all visitors.
  5. Sing enthusiastically.
  6. Pay attention.
  7. Come early if possible.
  8. Pray for the Meeting.
      a. Pray for the visiting preacher, for the song leaders, for the lost to come to obedience,
          for the saints who visit with us. Ephesians 6:18-20
      b. Pray that the church might be benefited from the Meeting.
      c. Pray that the Word of God might have free course in the hearts of all. 2 Thessalonians 3:1
